Rangers get another sweep

The Texas Ranges sweep the short series with the Orioles with another offensive burst.  The Rangers had 20 hits, the most of the season, with Nelson Cruz getting 4 of them.  Cruz set the pace with a 3-run homer in the 1st to kick start the Rangers.  By the end of the 4th inning, Texas had built an 8-3 lead and were not finished.

Matt Treanor capped a 5-run 8th inning with a 3-run shot over the left field wall to ice the game.

Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman went 6 innings, aided by the points put up by his teammates.  Feldman gave up 12 hits, but got his first win of the season while giving a break to the overworked bullpen.  “I gave up a lot of hits but fortunately we swung the bats really well,” said Feldman. “This was all about the offense putting up runs.”

Texas has won 4 in a row and now have a 4 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.
