Rangers Get Shelled at Home

The Texas Rangers 5-game win streak came to an end Monday night in Arlington in a 13-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers.

Colby Lewis becomes the only Texas starting pitcher to have a losing record after he gives up 9 runs in just 3 1/3 innings.  Lewis gave up 4 home runs in the 10 Detroit hits, while falling to 5-6 on the season.

The Texas offense played well, manufacturing 7 runs of their own.  Nelson Cruz batted 2 home runs while keeping his 10-game hitting streak alive.  Ian Kinsler went 3-for-4 to break out of his slump.  Kinsler is batting .200 points better at home than on the road.

The Rangers and Tigers resume play tonight at the Ballpark in Arlington.
