Rangers go to 5-0

The Texas Rangers improve to 5-0 to open the season.  Texas defeated Seattle 3-2 in Alexi Ogando’s first start.  It is the best start for the Rangers since 1996.

Ogando pitched six scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts as he earns a win in his debut.  Neftali Feliz got his 2nd save of the season.

The Rangers did not have a home run in the game, the first time this year without a homer.  They still kept pace with the extra-base hits, however, with 3 doubles and a triple on the night.  The triple and one of the doubles came from right-fielder Mitch Moreland.

Seattle threatened in the 7th inning, scoring 2 runs before Julio Borbon made a diving two-out catch with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Texas will go for it’s second sweep of the season Wednesday afternoon.
