Rangers lose another home playoff game

In what has become a very bad habit, the Texas Rangers lost another home playoff game.  With another chance to win the ALDS against the Tamba Bay Rays, the Rangers fell short 5-2.   Texas has not won a home playoff game in 6 attempts.

The Rays scored early and often off Texas pitchers.  Starter Tommy Hunter gave up 3 runs, (2 earned) and reliever Derek Holland gave up 2 more.  Tampa Bay took the 5-0 lead into the 6th inning when the Rangers mounted their only rally of the game.  Nelson Cruz hit a solo home run and Ian Kinsler scored on a double by Mitch Moreland.

Texas could not get any more offense going and will have to return to St. Petersburg with the series tied 2-2.

The Rangers expect to have Cliff Lee going against David Price in a rematch of game 1, won by Texas 5-1.  The Rangers go into Tuesday night still looking for their first ever trip to the American League Championship Series.
