Rangers lose to Angels 3-2

The Texas Rangers dropped another home game to the AL West leading Los Angeles Angels.  Texas drops to 1 1/2 games behind the Angels in the standings.

With the game tied at 2 in the top of the ninth inning, Darren Oliver came in as the closer instead of Neftali Feliz, who is still recovering from injury.  Oliver gave up a single and a walk.  Then, with 2 outs, Oliver gave up a single to Maicer Izturis which scored the go-ahead run.  Oliver drops to 1-4 on the season.

Adrian Beltre had 2 of the Rangers 7 hits, including an RBI single in the 2nd inning which gave Texas it’s only lead.  Michael Young hit a single in the 8th inning which scored Ian Kinsler to tie the game.

Derek Holland started the game for the Rangers, pitching 6 innings and giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. 

The Rangers host the Angels again on Sunday afternoon.
