The Texas Rangers hitting slump continued as the Rangers (34-26) lose 5-2 against the San Francisco Giants (34-26) on Saturday. This marks the Rangers sixth loss in the month of June.

The Rangers offense was held scoreless through the first seven innings before pinch hitter Mitch Moreland hit a home run on a flyball to right field. The Rangers only other score came in the top of the ninth with catcher Mike Napoli recording his 11th home run of the season.

This game was the tale of two completely different pitchers. One who hadn’t lost in 4 games and the other who hadn’t won this season. Unfortunately for the Rangers, their pitcher was the latter.

Scott Feldman started for the Rangers. He pitched for 5 1/3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. Feldman has an ERA of 6.39 and has yet to win a game for the Rangers this season.

Ryan Vogelsong of the Giants is 5-2 for the season following the win. In 7 2/3 innings, Vogelsong held the Rangers to 1 run on just 3 hits. This is Vogelsong’s fifth consecutive victory for the season

Alexi Ogando and the Rangers will conclude the series against Tim Lincecum and the Giants in San Francisco at the AT&T Center. First pitch is on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
