The game is never over until it’s over.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Oakland Athletics 4-3 in a comeback win scoring all 4 runs in the eight inning. The Rangers lead the four game series 2-0 and look to win the series with a win on Saturday.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison recorded his 11th win, most in the American League. Harrison finished giving up only 8 hits and 2 runs but the night seemed like an Athletics dominated hitting spree as the Athletics finished with 9 hits to the Rangers 4. The only difference for the Rangers was when those hits happened.

The Rangers offense came alive in the bottom of the eighth inning, doubling their amounts of hits to have a comeback victory from a 2-0 deficit. After a series of walks in the eighth inning, Craig Gentry had a triple leading to three of the four runs scored in the inning. Gentry has a .356 batting average after a 3 RBI and 1 hit night.

The Oakland Athletics had only allowed 2 hits until the eighth inning. Pitcher A.J. Griffin had 4 strikeouts and gave up 2 hits in 6 innings of play for the Athletics. The offense had a good night but couldn’t put up the runs to win the game. First baseman Chris Carter recorded his first home run of the game in the ninth inning. Carter finished with 2 runs, a hit and an RBI.

The Rangers host the Athletics again on Saturday. First pitch in the Ballpark at Arlington is at 6:15.
