Rangers Rally to beat the Royals

The Texas Rangers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to defeat the Kansas City Royals 7-6 at the Ballpark in Arlington on Sunday.

Texas had a 2-0 lead after the third inning, with an RBI double from Mike Napoli in the 2nd and a solo home run by Ian Kinsler in the 3rd.  Rangers starting pitcher Alexi Ogandu then suffered a 5-run fourth inning, capped by a 3-run homer from Royals catcher Brayan Pena.  Ogando stayed in for 6 innings, striking out 4.

The Rangers tied the game at 5 in the bottom of the 8th on a Michael Young home run.  Struggling closer Neftali Feliz comes in for the Rangers and gives up a run in the 9th inning before being replaced by Arthur Rhodes.

The Rangers tie the game again with a Nelson Cruz home run and then scores the winning run on an Elvis Andrus single sending Mike Napoli across the plate.

The Rangers travel to Tampa Bay for a series starting Monday.
