Rangers Rout Indians

The Texas Rangers routed the Cleveland Indians 11-2 Friday night for their 9th win in the last 12 games.

Rangers starting pitcher Alexi Ogando improves to 6-0 and is the only remaining undefeated starter in the American League.  Ogando pitched 8 innings, giving up just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 6.   Even Cleveland manager Manny Acta praised the performance, “Ogando overmatched us, pretty much.”

Yoshinori Tateyama pitched the final inning for the Rangers, giving up a home run to Asdrubal Cabrera.

Texas scored 5 runs in the 7th inning when both Josh Hamilton hit a 3-run homer to right field and Nelson Cruz blasted another for 2-runs.  Hamilton went 3-for-4 on the night.

For the 3rd straight game, the Rangers had a player with 4 hits, this time it was Elvis Andrus, who went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI’s and scoring twice.  Endy Chavez had another big night at the plate, going 3-for-5, scoring once and 2 runs batted in.

Texas and Cleveland play again tonight.
