Rangers Set Club Win Record

The Texas Rangers ended the regular season with 96 wins, the most in club history.  With a 3-1 win over the Angels, Texas clinched the 2nd seed in the AL and home field advantage in the ALDS.  The Rangers will open the postseason on Friday at 4:07 pm at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Mike Napoli was responsible for all 3 runs by hitting 2 home runs in the game.  The first was a solo shot in the 2nd inning, followed in the 9th inning with a home run that also scored Michael Young.  Napoli joins Ian Kinsler and Adrian Beltre in becoming the third Ranger to have 30 or more home runs this season.

Starting pitcher Matt Harrison went 6 innings, giving up just 1 run on 5 hits.  But, the decision goes to Mike Adams for his 5th win of the season.  Neftali Feliz finishes the regular season by earning his 32nd save.

The Rangers ended the season on a 6-game winning streak and finished 19-6 for the month of September.

In the ALDS, Texas will face the Tampa Bay Rays, who beat the Yankees 8-7 to earn their way into the wildcard spot.
