Rangers Shut Out By Blue Jays

The Texas Rangers were shutout by the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 on Sunday night in Arlington.  The Rangers only had 4 hits in the game.

Texas had to be looking forward to facing Toronto pitcher Brett Cecil again, after all, they scored 8 runs off him in 2 innings the last time they played.  Cecil turned his game around, keeping the Rangers off balance all night as he pitched the complete game, stiking out 7.

Rangers starter, Alexi Ogando, went 6 2/3 innings, giving up all 3 runs on 7 hits.  The loss drops Ogando to 10-4.

Texas had a rough night at the plate, with only Craig Gentry getting as many as 2 hits.  Gentry went 2-for-3 while the rest of the team went 2-for-28.

The loss drops the Rangers to only 3 games ahead of the Angels in the AL West standings.  Texas will continue it’s homestand tonight, beginning a 4 game series with Minnesota.
