Rangers shutout White Sox

The Texas Rangers welcomed the return of Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz as they shutout the Chicago White Sox 5-0 Monday night at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Hamilton, who has been on the disabled list since April 12, belted a solo home run in his first time at the plate to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.  Hamilton added a double in the 8th inning and scored after a single from Michael Young and sacrifice fly by Adrian Beltre.

Cruz, out since May 3, hit a 2-run homer in the 6th inning.  Michael Young went 3 for 4 on the day.

Although the Rangers offense finally showed life, it was another solid day of pitching for the Rangers.  Alexi Ogando pitched a complete game, giving up just 5 hits while striking out 6 for the shutout.  Ogando improves his record to 5-0.

Texas and Chicago play again Tuesday night at the Ballpark.
