Rangers take series from A’s

The Texas Rangers needed extra innings again to defeat the Oakland A’s 2-1.  Vladimir Guerrero hit a 12th inning single, scoring Michael Young for the game-winning RBI.   Guerrero almost ended the game in the 10th with a long shot just short of the centerfield wall.

Starter C.J. Wilson had a Rangers-record 7th quality start, allowing just 1 run in 7 innings.  Wilson has also gone 69 1/3 innings at the Ballpark without allowing a home run, another Rangers record.

Shortstop Elvis Andrus extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a RBI single in the 3rd.
