Nelson Cruz provided all the offense needed for the Texas Rangers to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 on Saturday.

The Rangers could only muster 5 hits in the game, with Toronto starter Carlos Villanueva going 6 1/3 innings and striking out 4.  The top of the Texas lineup went 0-7 in the game.

Cruz’ home run came in the 5th inning after Adrian Beltre blasted a ground-rule double to right-center field.  It is Cruz’ 19th home run of the season.

Roy Oswalt started for the Rangers, going 4 2/3 innings.  Oswalt allowed only 2 hits while striking out 5.  Reliever Michael Kirkman gets credit for the win, pitching to two batters in the bottom of the 7th.
