Remembering Mr. Will

Today the sports world lost one of the best.  Our own Will Martin, aka Mr. Will, passed away suddenly.

Will was a unique individual, truly one-of-a-kind.  I don’t know of anyone who met Mr. Will and didn’t come away feeling better for it.  Will had a way of making people feel special.  His uncanny ability to remember the smallest details about anyone he ever met endeared him to all.

Will had a passion for sports like no one I have even known.  And he loved to share his passion – he would write, film, record podcasts…anything he could do to share his love of sports.

He contributed to at least 4 local media outlets, as well as keeping his own blog.  Willie would show up everywhere, always with a smile, always with kind words.  I often referred to him as “The hardest working man in sports.”  Willie would just shrug and say he was doing what he loved.

Tonight, we shrug and realize we loved what he was doing, too.
