RG III Steals Show At Cowboys Stadium

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is undefeated on Thanksgiving.  That fact held true for Tony Romo until the Redskins whipped the Cowboys 38-31 at Cowboys Stadium.

Griffin threw for 311 yards and 4 touchdowns by completing 20 of 28 passes.  The ‘Skins were unstoppable in the 2nd quarter when they scored 28 points and put the game out of reach.

Dallas fought back in the 2nd half to get within 1 score, but Griffin III again drove Washington down the field, taking time off the clock and padding the lead to 10.  Redskins running back Alfred Morris averaged almost 5 yards per carry, gaining 113 yards on 24 attempts.

The Cowboys abandoned the run early in the game, making only 7 total rushing attempts by the duo of Felix Jones and Lance Dunbar.  The longest running play for Dallas was 8 yards.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo completed 37 of 62 attempts for 441 yards.  His 3 touchdowns were tempered by his 2 interceptions.

Jason Witten caught 9 passes for 74 yards and Dez Bryant grabbed 8 for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, including an 85 yard catch that is the longest for the Cowboys since Troy Aikman threw a 90-yarder to Jason Tucker in 2000.

Cowboys rookie receiver from SMU, Cole Beasley caught 7 passes for 68 yards, including a nice one-hander on 3rd down to keep a Dallas drive alive.  Beasley’s former SMU teammate, Aldrick Robinson, caught a 68 yard touchdown for the Redskins.

The Dallas defense could not stop Washington when they needed it.  When the Redskins got rolling in the 2nd quarter, the Cowboys looked like Keystone Cops, running around wildly and not neccessarily near the football.  Washington converted 50% of third downs in the game and scored 67% when in the Red Zone.

Dallas drops to below .500 again and appears to be going nowhere.  They host the Eagles on December 2 in the battle of celler dwellers.
