Rosales Named To AAC All-Tournament Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (American/SMU) – SMU men’s soccer student-athlete Damian Rosales was named to the 2014 American Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the event on Sunday afternoon, league officials announced.

The senior played all 90 minutes in the Mustangs’ loss to Tulsa in the conference semifinal registering a pair of shots to help lead the SMU offense. In the 4-0 quarterfinal victory over UCF, Rosales scored a pair of goals to secure the victory.

Rosales finished second in points (14) and goals (6) this season, despite missing the first three matches of 2014 due to injury. He also had two assists.

For his efforts, he was honored as an All-AAC Second-Team selection. On Nov. 10 he was named the College Sports Madness AAC Player of the Week, and was also a conference weekly honor roll award winner on Oct. 13.
