FRISCO, TEXAS – Nick Williams had four hits and Nomar Mazara belted his sixth home run of the season as the Frisco RoughRiders defeated the San Antonio Missions, 7-3, on Thursday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Andrew Faulkner (5-3) made his fourth start against San Antonio this season, and picked up his third consecutive victory.

Tied at two in the fourth, The Riders (25-34) went ahead when Luis Mendez recorded his sixth multi-hit game this season with an RBI-single scoring Jake Skole. Then in the fifth inning, Williams knocked his fifth homer of the season onto the left-field berm to put the Riders ahead 4-2. Frisco ran away late when Nomar Mazara hit his second home run in as many days to give the Riders a 7-3 lead before Jake Skole tacked on a run in the eighth with his third long ball.

Faulkner threw a dandy for his fourth consecutive time out. After allowing a home run in the first to Alberth Martinez, Faulkner settled in. He worked into the sixth inning before a two out walk to Casey McElroy ended his night. Cody Ege entered the game and allowed a base hit to Duanel Jones and it was a 5-3 game. All three runs were

charged to Faulkner, who won his fifth game of the season.

After falling behind in the first, the Riders answered quickly with two runs. Williams singled home Patrick Cantwell and later scored on Mazara’s sacrifice fly to left. Leading 2-1, Faulkner allowed a two-out double in the fourth to Jones, and the game was tied at two. The Riders scored a run in five consecutive innings to pull ahead and eventually take game three, 8-4.

Missions starter Justin Hancock (5-2) dropped his second consecutive start. The Riders tagged him for five runs, four earned, and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings.

The Riders have won two straight games, and improved to 9-6 against San Antonio this season. They can win the series behind RHP Jake Thompson on Friday before a completely sold-out crowd at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Friday is “Salute To Full House Night,” as the RoughRiders will wear specially designed jerseys that mimic the opening credits scene and logo from Full House. Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone on the show, will be on hand for fans to take photographs and sign autographs during the 7:05 p.m. game. RHP Bryan Rodriguez toes the mound for San Antonio.
