FRISCO, Texas – In a game that featured six lead changes, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, came up short in a 7-6 loss to the Corpus Christi Hooks in the series finale at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

BIG MOMENTS

  • In the top of the ninth, the Hooks took the lead for good on Ramon Laureano’s two-run triple against Riders closer Reed Garrett .
  • Trailing 5-4, the Riders took the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on a throwing error and an RBI infield single by Eric Aguilera .
  • Trent Woodward and Drew Ferguson hit back-to-back home runs to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the eighth against Riders reliever Sam Wolff .
  • After J.D. Davis’ two-run home run tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth, the Riders broke the deadlock in the bottom of the inning, scoring on Jose Cardona’s second sacrifice fly of the day.
  • Frisco had a 3-1 lead after scoring three times in the second inning.

NEWS AND NOTES

  • With a crowd of 9,541 Monday, the Riders drew 36,777 fans over the four-game series.
  • All six Riders runs were unearned thanks to three Hooks errors.
  • With three homers allowed Monday, Frisco has surrendered 20 home runs in 12 games against the Hooks this season. The Riders lead the Texas League in home runs allowed, yielding 51 long balls in 44 games.
  • Juremi Profar recorded his fourth three-hit game of the season, all of which have come in the last 12 games. His three-hit day included his second triple in three days and just the seventh of his career.
