Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Monday that starting cornerback Orlando Scandrick has been suspended for four games.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Jones added that the suspension was for a violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reported that Scandrick said that something he took when he was on vacation in Mexico tested positive for a banned substance.
Scandrick started 15 of 16 games for the Cowboys last season. He had 64 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
The absence of Scandrick adds to the problems facing the Cowboys, who were poor on defense last season and have several defensive starters sidelined with injuries.
