Seattle Thrashes Cowboys

One week after celebrating on of the biggest wins in recent memory, the Dallas Cowboys came crashing back down to earth with a 27-7 drubbing at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.

The Cowboys game started by fumbling away the kick-off and did not improve the rest of the game.  On the very next possession, Dallas allowed a blocked punt.   On the third offensive try, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw an interception.  Less than 5 minutes into the game, Dallas already trailed by 10.

Dallas did manage to put together one long drive  and score in the game when Romo connected with Miles Austin for a 22-yard touchdown.  It was the only Cowboys highlight of the game.

Felix Jones made 5 kickoff returns from the end zone and only made it past the 20-yard line once (to the 21-yard line.)

The Cowboys were outplayed, out-hit, and out-coached from start to finish in this game.  The Seahawks were roughing up the ‘Boys like bullies on a playground.  Dallas appeared to have no fight in them, taking whatever punches Seattle chose to give.

Seattle racked up 182 of their 315 total yards on the ground.  Running back Marshawn Lynch rumbled for 122 yards on 26 carries.  Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson completed 15 of 20 passes for 151 yards.

The Cowboys offense was completely out of sync.  Romo was pressured all day and forced to throw on the run.  Tight-end Jason Whitten only caught 4 of 10 passes thrown his way.  Running back DeMarco Murray only carried the ball 12 times for 44 yards.

The Cowboys did manage to reduce the number of offensive line penalties to just 1 false start (by Tyron Smith.)

Dallas will return home to host Tampa Bay on Sunday at noon.
