Sidekicks Lose To Tropics

Allen, Texas – The Dallas Sidekicks move to 4-7 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a 8-6 loss Friday night to the Florida Tropics.

The Sidekicks got out to an early 1-0 lead with Clint Ritter scoring right at the end of the first quarter. The Sidekicks lead would only last minutes as Florida would equalize and minutes later would take the lead in the second quarter with goals scored by Maycon Franca and Lucas Montelares. The Sidekicks entered the match with a record of 0-3 when trailing at halftime.

The Tropics came out firing in the third quarter with goals scored by Jowayne Laidley, Victor Parreiras, and Freddy Moojen scoring 2 goals. Dallas’ answered with goals scored by Cameron Brown and Cody Ellis to cut into Florida’s lead 6-3 at the end of the third quarter.

Forward, Cameron Brown has scored in 22 consecutive Major Arena Soccer League matches. Cameron Brown achieved his feat for the Dallas Sidekicks across two seasons in 2015-16.Brown missed game 12 of last season at Brownsville, but he scored at least one goal in games 9, 10, 11, and 13-20 of last season as well as all 11 games of this year.

The Sidekicks came out hot in the fourth quarter with goals scored by Clint Ritter, Cameron Brown and Jamie Lovegrove but the Tropics offense was too much to handle. The Tropics closed out the game strong in the fourth quarter with goals scored by Robbie Aristodemo and Freddy Moojen scoring his third goal of the night.

The Sidekicks are now 0-13 during the Simon Bozas era when trailing at halftime.
