DALLAS (SMU) – Gehrig Dieter, Christian Holloway, Derek Longoria and Daniel Roundtree have all enrolled on the Hilltop and are now members of the SMU football team, Head Coach June Jones announced today.

Dieter, a PARADE All-American receiver, set numerous records during his senior year. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder holds national records for receiving yards in a single game (437) and receiving yards per catch (26.9). He also holds Indiana state records for most receiving yards in a career (4,326), a season (2,171), a game (437) and in a 4A State playoff game (168). Following the season, he was named an Indiana High School Athletic Association first-team All-State selection and the Northern Indiana Conference MVP. In addition to his PARADE honor, Dieter was a MAXPreps first-team All-American. SI.com tabbed him a second-team All-American, while ESPN selected him as athirst-team All American.

Holloway, who originally signed with SMU in February 2010, is a 6-5, 240-pound defensive end. He was a three-star Rivals.com and ESPN.com recruit after registering 65 tackles, 13 sacks and one interception during his senior season. A team captain, Holloway earned All-CIF honors and was tabbed Del Rey League Lineman of the Year.

Longoria, like Holloway, signed with SMU in February 2010, but injuries kept him from enrolling in the fall. He was also a three-star Rivals.com recruit and was selected to PrepStar Magazine’s All-Midlands Region Team. He registered 115 tackles and three interception returns for touchdowns as a senior and also rushed for three scores. He played offense and defense for Brownwood and also punted. He was a preseason All-State pick by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football after averaging 41.8 yards per punt in 2009.

Safety Daniel Roundtree spent the 2011 season at Cerritos Community College, helping Cerritos to the So-Cal Championship game. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder notched 46 stops in 2011, with four for-loss and one interception. A three-star Rivals.com recruit, Roundtree redshirted in 2010 with an injury at El Camino College after recording 15 tackles (11 solo) and picking off a pass there in 2009. A prep standout at American Heritage (FL) High School, Roundtree was an All-State Honorable Mention selection as a senior, notching 85 tackles with seven pass break-ups and two interceptions. Roundtree has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

All four will participate in Spring Practice and be ready for the 2012 football season. National Signing day for high school students is set for Feb. 1, 2012.
