COLUMBIA, Mo. (SMU) – Freshman Bari Kesner scored in her first collegiate match, and Shelby Redman tallied another, but it wasn’t enough as SMU fell at Missouri 3-2 in the Mustangs’ lone preseason match for 2013.

The Mustangs’ regular season begins Friday with a home affair against ULM at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Missouri opened up the scoring late in the first half with a goal from Reagan Russell. Tigers midfielder Kaysie Clark added another quickly into the second half. The Tigers would hold on to the 2-0 lead for over 20 minutes until Kesner brought the Mustangs back with a goal in the 77th minute with an assist from Redman.

Missouri would regain its two-goal edge with a goal from Brooke Williams just nine minutes later. Redman found the back of the net with just 21 seconds left in regulation off an assist from Courtney Smith.

The shot totals for the two sides were similar (15-13 in favor of Missouri) and each team had six corner kick opportunities. Redman led SMU with eight shots. Lauryn Bodden and Shannon Moroney each played one half of the game in goal for SMU.
