Stars beat Hurricanes in shootout

The Dallas Stars needed a shootout to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 Friday night.  The Hurricanes have not won in Dallas since 1997.

Andrew Raycroft made 28 saves, including the shootout attempts.  Raycroft was filling in for Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen, who was out with back spasms.

James Neal scored for Dallas at 9:39 of the first period.  Brad Richards made the Stars lone goal in the shootout.

The Stars travel to Phoenix Saturday night.
