Stars Defeat Columbus 4-2

The Dallas Stars defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2 Saturday night in the American Airlines Center.

The Stars are now 4-0 at home and 4-1 overall.   They improve their dominance over Columbus to 28-8-5.

Dallas entered the third period with the score tied at 2-2.  The Stars newest members scored the goals to seal the win.  Sheldon Souray scored on a slap shot early in the period to give Dallas the lead.  Michael Ryder sealed the victory with a power play goal late in the game.

Loui Eriksson’s goal in the second period gives him one in each of the last three games.  Brenden Morrow scored his second goal of the season.

Mike Ribeiro had a season-high three assists.

Kari Lehtonen stopped 13-of-15 shots tonight, improving to 4-0-0 on the season with a 1.48 Goals-Against-A and a .955 save percentage.

Dallas opens an extended road trip Tuesday in Columbus in a rematch with the Blue Jackets.
