Stars end season with win

The Dallas Stars ended the season with a shootout victory over the Minnesota Wild.  For the second straight year, the Stars failed to reach the playoffs, a first since the team moved to Dallas from Minnesota.  Throughout the season, Dallas faild to win more than 2 games in a row.

Steve Ott scored twice for the Stars, Brendan Morrow scored on a power play, and Jamie Benn scored in the shootout to give Dallas the 4-3 win.

All attention was directed at Mike Modano, who many believe was playing his final NHL game.  Modano was drafted first overall by the Minnesota North Stars before they moved to Dallas.  During the game a video montage of his days in Minnesota was shown and drew a standing ovation.   Modano appeared to be overcome with emotion again, as he had been during a similar honor Thursday during the home finale.
