The Detroit Red Wings set a record for consecutive home wins in a season with 21 by defeating the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The Stars narrowly avoided being shutout, as Adam Burish, assisted by Michael Ryder and Loui Eriksson, hit a tip-in in the final minute.
Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen saved 34 of 37 shots in the loss.
Detroit got goals by Henrik Zetterberg, Brad Stuart, and Jiri Hudler.
“That’s a darn good team over there,” said Burish. “They didn’t get the record by just showing up and playing. It’s an impressive record.”
