Stars lose at home to Avalanche

The Dallas Stars lost their 4th consecutive home game with a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche.  The Stars now are 7 points behind in the playoff chase with 14 games to go.

The difference in the game was with power plays, Colorado scored on 2 of 3, while Dallas could not capitalize on any of their 5 chances.

Stars coach Marc Crawford tried to stay positive, “Our guys battled hard today. There was nothing wrong with our effort.  We’ve played extremely well, we haven’t given up a lot. We just came up against a very, very hot goaltender on the other side tonight and he was the difference-maker. I thought our guys did everything they needed to do against that kind of performer – you need to keep getting traffic in front of the net, you need to be hard in those hard areas and we were. But he was equal to the task.”

Scoring for the Stars were Brandon Segal with 2 goals, and Jamie Benn.
