The Dallas Stars fell to the San Jose Sharks 5-2 Thursday night in San Jose.   The Stars have now lost all 3 games against the Sharks this season and 5 in a row dating back to last year.  The Sharks have outscored the Stars 26-8 over the 5-game period.  Dallas continued its streak of losing when playing on consecutive nights, now 0-8-1 on the 2nd night of back-to-back games.

Steve Ott scored a power-play goal for the Stars in the 2nd period and then assisted, along with Philip Larsen, on a tip-in by Jamie Benn in the final period.   Ott’s goal was the first by the Stars against the Sharks in 190 minutes, a San Jose team record.

Goaltender Richard Bachman got the start for Kari Lehtonen and stopped 32 of 37 shots.

The Stars will have the day off before returning home to host Minnesota on Saturday at the American Airlines Center.
