Stars rally to beat Kings in OT

The Dallas Stars rallied for a 4-3 victory against the Kings in Los Angeles Monday night.   The Stars trailed by 1 on 3 seperate occasions, finally tying the game 5 minutes into the 3rd period which would send the game to overtime.

Just 38 seconds into overtime, Brenden Morrow scored for Dallas to seal the victory.  It was Morrow’s 26th goal of the season.

The Stars have won 5 of their last 6 games and are currently in 5th place in the Western Conference.

Also scoring for Dallas was Mike Ribeiro, with a wrist shot in the 2nd period, and another wrist shot by Trevor Daley in the 3rd period.  The final regulation goal was a short-handed goal by Jamie Benn.

Stars captain Morrow talked about repeatedly coming from behind, “It showed huge character for us to come out and get that two points.  This group has been good about that all year. Last year and in years past, it was something we wouldn’t be mentally tough enough to overcome. But now we just wipe those things away and try to steal the momentum on the next shift.”

The Stars return home Wednesday to play Calgary.
