Stars Shine in Anaheim

The Dallas Stars began the 2nd half of the season with a 6-2 win on the road against the Anaheim Ducks.

Dallas scored 3 goals late in the opening period that put the game away early.  Eric Nystrom hit a tip-in to put the Stars on the board, tying the game at 1-1.  Nystrom was assisted by Alex Goligoski and Philip Larsen.  Vernon Fiddler put the Stars ahead for good with a wrist shot just a few minutes later.  Jamie Benn hit a wrist shot, assisted by Steve Ott and Michael Ryder to close out the opening period.

Stephane Robidas scores on a power play for Dallas in the 2nd period, with assists by Goligoski and Mike Ribeiro.

Sheldon Souray hits a slap shot to start the 3rd period, assisted by Ryder and Benn.  Ryder closes out the scoring for Dallas with a wrist shot, aided by Ott and Benn.

Goaltender Kari Lehtonen saved 33 of 35 shots in the win.

The Stars stay in California to face San Jose tonight in the third of six meetings between the Pacific Division rivals. San Jose has outscored Dallas by a 9-3 margin in two victories against the Stars this season.
