Stars Shutout Canucks

The Dallas Stars went into the Roger Arena to face the struggling Vancouver Canucks as they shut them out 2-0. The Stars could not have won the game without Kari Lehtonen in net as he was spectular in net as he made 27 saves for his second shutout of the season. Colton Sceviour and Antoine Roussel had the goals for the Stars.

The Stars had tremendous goaltending from Lehtonen as he kept the Stars in the game. He made a glove save on Radim Vrbata to keep the Stars from going down 1-0 in the first period. He kept the Stars in re game as a turnover from Trevor Daley caused a scoring chance for Alex Burrows but Lehtonen came out to save it with his glove side to keep it scoreless. Then while the Stars were on the power play, a turnover from the Stars caused another scoring chance for the Canucks as Chris Higgins went on a breakaway but Lehtonen once again was quick with his pads this time.

Then in the second period, Kari Lehtonen made a save from his glove after a Jykri Jokipakka turnover on Jannik Hansen. After the save by Lehtonen, the Stars took a 1-0 Lear over the Canucks as Colton Sceviour scored off the

rush to backhand the puck past Eddie Lack’s glove for a 1-0 lead with 17:07 left in the second period.

It was all Kari Lehtonen in the third period as the Stars kept a hold of the 1-0 lead. Antoine Roussel sealed the deal with an empty netter goal to put the Stars up 2-0 with 26 seconds left in the third period.

The next game for the Stars is when they travel to Calgary to the face the Flames on Friday night for a 8pm puck drop.
