About The Stars

The Stars (12-13-5) are coming off a 2-0 shutout against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves for the shutout. The Stars have won three of their past four games, allowing four goals against in the three wins. Tyler Seguin has a career-high four goals with an assist during a 7-3 win at Calgary on Nov. 14 of last year.

Friday’s game will be two out of the three games on the road, their last stop will be on Sunday when they go to Edmonton to face the Oilers. Ryan Garbutt will serve his final game of the three game suspension. Both Alex Goligoski and Jordie Benn missed practice yesterday but will be in the game tonight.

Kari Lehtonen will start in net for the Stars today after the shutout victory.

Injuries: RW Patrik Eaves (ankle), RW Valeri Nichushkin (hip) and Patrik Nemeth (arm) are out

About The Flames

The Calgary Flames are on a six game losing streak as they are coming off a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers. Goaltender Karri Ramo allowed four goals on the 13 shots he faced Tuesday. They are in danger of losing seven straight games in regulation for the first time in, 15 seasons. They have allowed a goal in all three situations — one on the power play, one shorthanded and three at even strength.

Calgary’s Jiri Hulder has a goal in two straight games and a point in each of the last four but was shut out in two against the Stars this season. Jonas Hiller will start in goal for the Flames on Friday. Goaltender Karri Ramo missed practice Friday due to illness.

The Flames announced Wednesday that they signed head coach Bob Hartley to a multi-year extension.

Injuries: Goaltender Karri Ramo (illness) is questionable. Mikael Burkland (Abdominal) and Ladislav Smid (Upper Body) are out.
