Stars vs Wild Preview

by Melissa Bosau

Tonight the Dallas Stars are on the road as they face the Minnesota Wild in a home and home game series. The Stars are coming off a 3-2 OT win over the Philadelphia Flyers while the Wild are coming off from a 2-1 OT loss against the Nashville Predators. The Stars are 14-18-5 on the road while the Wild are 25-6-8 at home. This is the third of four meetings between the Stars and Wild and the front end of a home-and-home series.

After their last win against the Flyers, the Stars are five points out of the final playoff spot in the five games remaining of the season and looking to make the playoffs with this push. On the other side, the Wild are currently sitting in third place in the Central Division and had a three-point lead over fourth-place St. Louis through Tuesday’s game.

Also interesting news to put out there for the Stars is they have not won back-to-back games since Feb. 8 and 9. The Stars are looking to win the game so they can keep their playoff hopes up high. They will be fighting hard during this game but more the Stars as they are trying to make the extra push for a playoff spot. As we know right now, the Stars would have to win all the games in order to have a chance to look at the playoffs but would also need help from several teams. The Stars right now are focused on the Wild game as they look to extend their winning streak to two games.
