The Dallas Stars got a big game from backup goaltender Andrew Raycroft on Monday night to beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-1.  Raycroft, filling in for the injured Kari Lehtonen, stopped 35 of 36 shots for his first win of the season.

Eric Nystrom put Dallas on the scoreboard early in the game with his 8th goal of the season.  Vernon Fiddler and Stephane Robidas assisted.

The Stars went ahead 2-0 in the 3rd period with a wrist shot by Michael Ryder, assisted by Loui Eriksson and Philip Larsen.

After Kevin Porter brought the Avalanche to within 1, Michael Ryder sealed the Stars victory with an empty net goal.

The Stars are 14-9-1 and lead the Pacific Division.  They return home on Thursday to face Ottawa in the American Airlines Center.
