Stars win against Nashville

With their 3-2 win against the Nashville Predators this afternoon, Dallas improved their record against Central Division teams to a Western Conference leading 12-4-1 record (.735 PTS%). Six of Dallas’ seven wins when trailing after two periods this season have come against teams from the Central Division. Dallas now shares the lead for most wins in the NHL with the New York Rangers when trailing after two periods (7).

Dallas continued their dominance over the Nashville Predators at home by improving their lifetime record to 18-5-1 (.771). The Stars have better home records only against the Minnesota Wild (15-2-2, .842), and Anaheim Ducks (34-10-3, .772).

The Stars have allowed just four goals in their past three games. Prior to that, Dallas had given up 13 goals in the previous three games.

The Dallas Stars surpassed Tampa Bay for the best record in the NHL in one-goal games. Dallas now owns a 19-5-6 record (.773)

The Stars improved their record to 24-5-1 this season when earning 3 or more goals.

Loui Eriksson scored his 21st goal of the season and his team-leading sixth game-winning goal of the season.

Steve Ott continued to dominate on the faceoff dot today winning 13-of-18 faceoff opportunities. Ott came into tonight’s contest ranked fourth overall in faceoff percentage winning 436-of-794 opportunities (58.3%).

Alex Goligoski scored his first goal, and earned an assist for his first multi-point game as a Star.

Tom Wandell netted his first goal since Dec. 16 vs. San Jose, and his fourth overall this season.
