Stars Win For New Owner

Dallas improves to 12-8-0 for 24 points on the season, good for second place in the Pacific Division, just one point back of San Jose.  The win breaks a 5-game losing streak for the Stars.  It was the first game for the Stars under new owner Tom Gaglardi, who was introduced at a press conference earlier in the day.

Toby Peterson opened the scoring with a wrist shot midway through the 1st period.  Petersen’s goal was his first of the season.

Steve Ott increased the Dallas lead in the 2nd period, assisted by Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow.  Mike Ribeiro’s assist gives him a two-game point streak (1 goal, 1 assist) and points in three of the last five games (1g, 2a).

Michael Ryder made the third Stars goal with an assist by Nicklas Grossman and Loui Eriksson.  Grossman’s assist was his first point of the season.  Eriksson’s assist gives him a two-game assist streak (2 a).

Radek Dvorak’s goal in the 3rd period was his first of the season (empty net, shorthanded). It marked his 24th career shorthanded goal .

Dallas will host the LA Kings on Wednesday at American Airlines Center (7:30 pm), and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday (7:30 pm).
