The Dallas Stars defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 Saturday night in L.A.

The Stars opened the scoring with a power-play goal by Jamie Benn with an assist by Michael Ryder and Trevor Daley. The Kings scored on a short-handed goal to tie the game in the 2nd period.  The tie didn’t last long as Trevor Daley put Dallas ahead for good less than 3 minutes later.  Daley was assisted by Tomas Vincour and Tom Wandell.

Richard Bachman got his first NHL start at goaltender, filling in for the injured Kari Lehtonen.  Bachman saved 26 of 27 shots in the win.  Bachman was excited to get the opportunity, “You always dream about getting that first win. It’s a dream come true tonight.”

The Stars continue their road trip Tuesday night against the Rangers in New York.
