FORT WORTH, Texas – Kyan Anderson scored a game-high 23 points in leading TCU to an impressive 74-50 victory over Radford Wednesday night at Wilkerson-Greines.

Anderson did most of his damage at the end of the first half as the returning all-conference honoree finished the period scoring the final 10 points for the Horned Frogs. In the end, the senior, who has now scored 20 or more points 18 times in his career, went 7-for-8 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from long range. Hudson Price was the only other Frog in double-figures, scoring a career-high 14 points on 5-for-7 from the field. All of Price’s production came in the second half.

Radford was carried by Jalen Carethers’ 11 points on 5-for-10 from the floor Wednesday night. Rashun Davis followed tallying 10 points of 4-of-7 from the field.

With the win, TCU moved to 5-0 on the season, while Radford dropped to 2-3 on the year. The Frogs haven’t started a year 5-0 since going 9-0 to begin the 1997-98 campaign, which also happens to be the last time TCU made the NCAA Tournament.

For the game, the Frogs out-rebounded the Highlanders to the tune of

39-34, marking the fifth-straight game in which TCU has out-rebounded the opposition. The Purple and White also recorded 10 blocks in the contest and held Radford to a dismal 1-for-12 showing from long range.

Just like he ended the first half, Anderson got going right out of the gate in the second stanza, scoring on a run-out to make it 33-22 early in the period. A few plays later, Price cashed in on a jumper on the corner, which gave the Frogs a 13-point advantage at 37-24.

By the time Kenrich Williams found the bottom of the net at the 16:03 mark, TCU had opened the second half on a 12-6 run to make the scoreboard read 43-26 in favor of the Purple and White.

Senior Amric Fields and Price then went to work, scoring 10 out of the next 12 points for the Frogs in a matter of minutes to increase the Purple and White lead to 55-32 at the 12-minute mark. Fields who saw his first action of the year Wednesday was spectacular during the stretch, scoring a three-point play and then following it up with another tough bucket before Price buried a triple off a miss at the line.

TCU would put it on cruise control the rest of the way and never look back, winning comfortably to give Radford their third loss on the year.

The two teams opened the game going back and forth until Chris Washburn connected off the glass to give the Frogs an early 6-4 lead at the 16:49 mark of the opening frame. The sophomore continued to go to work a few plays later, hitting a tough baby hook to increase the TCU lead to four.

With Radford leading 10-8 at the 13-minute mark, sophomore Williams drove by his defender and laid it off the glass to tie the game at 10-10. Fellow sophomore Karviar Shepherd then got into the act, scoring off a rebound at the 11:58 mark of the period.

The ballgame remained tight the next couple of possessions as the Highlanders clung to a 16-15 lead with a little over 8 minutes remaining in the opening stanza. The Frogs proceeded to go on a 13-2 run to take a 28-18 advantage down the stretch, which included a deep trey ball by Anderson at the 3:16 mark.

A late trey ball by the senior from the left side of the court gave the Purple and White a 31-20 lead at the break. In all, the returning all-conference honoree scored 12 out of the last 14 points of the period for the Frogs, including the final 10 points.

TCU will next be in action Friday at the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic. The Frogs will take on Bradley at 6:00 p.m. CT.
