FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU freshman Zahna Medley earned Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week accolades Monday afternoon, marking the fourth time this season she has picked up the weekly honor.

Medley averaged 21.0 points per contest, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in games against Kanas and Baylor this past week. She had a banner night against the Jayhawks, pouring in a career-high 35 points on 10-of-22 shooting against Kansas, including 7-of-14 from deep.

Overall, Medley is the first Big 12 freshman to score 35 points in a game this season and joins Baylor’s Brittney Griner as the only two league players to record at least 35 points in 2012-13. Only two other freshmen nationally have topped her scoring effort. Medley also posted the fifth-highest point total in program history, while her seven treys were the fourth-best mark at TCU. She added seven points, five rebounds and four assists against Baylor.

The Horned Frogs will next be in action Wednesday against nationally ranked Oklahoma State. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CT at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
