TCU’s Pachall Receives Weekly MW Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — TCU quarterback Casey Pachall has been recognized by the Mountain West as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s 35-19 win at Air Force.

Pachall was also named by Rivals.com as its MW Player of the Week.

A 6-foot-5, 216-pound sophomore from Brownwood, Texas, Pachall completed 20-of-25 passes for 206 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He connected on his first 11 passes to tie for the second-most consecutive completions in a game by a TCU quarterback.

Pachall’s 80.0 completion percentage tied for the eighth-best single-game mark in TCU history. He added 32 yards rushing to give him 238 yards of total offense.

In earning his first win as a collegiate starting quarterback, Pachall led TCU to touchdown drives on its opening two possessions and three of the first four series as TCU built a 21-3 halftime lead.

Pachall’s 70.3 completion percentage this year is on pace to break TCU’s single-season record of 66.1 set by Andy Dalton in 2010. Pachall, who has thrown six touchdown passes with just one interception, ranks second in the Mountain West and 30th nationally with a 158.1 pass efficiency rating.
