Texas Rangers lose wild game to Toronto
|The Texas Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in just the first inning. They increased it to 9-3 by the 3rd. Then the wheels fell off. The Blue Jays scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to put the game away. Then they added 5 more runs just for the fun of it. The Blue Jays lead the league in home runs with 57, including 5 on the night.
Texas starter Rich Harden could not even go 3 innings, as he gave up 7 runs. Then Doug Mathis came in and gave up 8 runs in less than 2 full innings, earning the loss. Every Toronto starter had at least one hit in the game.
The Rangers were not without their own firepower. Vlad Guerrero went 3 for 4, with 3 RBI’s. Nelson Cruz came off the 15-day disabled list to have 4 RBI’s. Max Ramirez hit a 2nd inning lead-off home run.
