Texas Wild Completes Roster Selection

IRVING, TX – Irving-based Texas Wild of Mylan World TeamTennis presented by GEICO announced its complete player roster after the team participated in its first Roster Player Daft in Indian Wells, California. The Texas Wild roster will include Marquee Players Bob and Mike Bryan, ATP top 15 doubles player Aisam Qureshi, Alex Bogomolov, Jr, Wimbledon Junior Champion, Eugenie Bouchard, and former WTA top 15 player, Elena Bovina.

“The team we’ve assembled for our inaugural season in Texas not only has the capability to compete, but probably to win a championship,” said Jeff Launius, Owner and General Manager. “Adding to the strength of our marquee players Bob and Mike Bryan, our roster of Qureshi, Bogomolov, Jr, Bouchard and Bovina provides one of the best pre- season rosters I’ve drafted in all of my years as an owner and general manager. This makes us a very competitive team in all aspects including singles, doubles and mixed,” he added.

The Wild will kick off its season at home on July 10, versus Venus Williams and the defending champion Washington Kastles. During today’s draft the Kastles also selected former world No. 1 Martina Hingis, who will be in Irving to play against the Wild on Friday, July 19.

Season ticket packages will go on sale on March 14, 2013. Each season ticket package includes seven home matches and the option to buy playoff tickets if the team qualifies.

“Now that our team is complete it’s time to prepare for the season opener and the fantastic experience we’ll provide our fans” said Launius. “I look forward to bringing world-class tennis in this innovative format to the Metroplex.”

The Texas Wild will play all of their home matches at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. The home stadium for the Wild will seat approximately 2,000 fans.

The 2013 season of Mylan World TeamTennis runs during July in eight U.S. markets. The Texas Wild will play in the Western Conference along with the Orange County Breakers (Irvine, Calif.);Sacramento Capitals (Sacramento, Calif.) and the Springfield Lasers (Springfield, Mo.). The Eastern Conference includes the 2012 Champion Washington Kastles (Washington, D.C.), Boston Lobsters (Boston, Mass.), New York Sportimes (New York, N.Y.) and the Philadelphia Freedoms (Villanova, Pa.).
