Texas wins against Detroit

The Texas Rangers got back on track as the defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-3 Wednesday night at the Ballpark.

Alexi Ogando pitched 7 2/3 innings, giving up just one run on 6 hits.  Ogando improves to 7-0 in his first season as a starter.  The only undefeated starter with 7 wins in the major league, Ogando lowered his ERA to 2.10, second in the American League.

Darren Oliver and Neftali Feliz finished the game for the Rangers.

Elvis Andrus again had the hot bat for Texas, going 3-for-5, with an RBI, and scoring a run.  Adrian Beltre went 2-for-3, including a solo home run.

The Rangers’ big inning came in the 3rd, as they scored 4 runs.  Yorvit Torrealba and Chris Davis scored on a throwing error by Tiger third baseman Don Kelly.  Josh Hamilton brought in Elvis Andrus and Craig Gentry with a double.

Texas goes back on the road to play Minnesota tonight.
