DENTON, Texas – Double-digit blocks from Karissa Flack and 19 kills from Carnae Dillard were too much for Florida Atlantic in a four-set win for the Mean Green volleyball team (25-16, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20).

Flack set a career-high with 10 blocks on the day, which are the second-most in a Sun Belt Conference match this year. The only player to top her in league play is her North Texas (19-10, 5-5 SBC West) teammate Courtney Windham, who racked up 11 blocks at Arkansas State last month.

The Mean Green is now just a win away from the sixth 20-win campaign in school history thanks to Sunday’s efforts, which held the Owls (6-15, 1-9 SBC East) to .076 hitting. Dillard powered the NT offense, which hit .351 on FAU, with 19 kills on .389 hitting.

NT’s blocking line produced 13.5 blocks, which is the fourth highest outing for the Mean Green this year. Dillard also set a personal best with six blocks, and Kaci Eaton – celebrating her birthday – sent back three blocks.

North Texas returns to Sun Belt West Division play next weekend at Louisiana-Lafayette (1 p.m.), and heads to in-state rival Stephen F. Austin (Oct. 31).
