Who Will Be The Most Embarrassing Cowboy?

It seems the Dallas Cowboys cannot have a season without controversy.  Owner Jerry Jones has taken steps in the off-season to address the team chemistry and got rid of several players whose on-field productivity was not worth the off-field embarrassing publicity. Will a current Cowboy step-up to fill the poor publicity void? Let’s take a look at some of the most likely suspects:

Tony Romo – Okay, so the biggest complaint about Romo is that he likes to play golf and be in the company of pretty blondes. Is that really so bad?   Things could be worse, just ask Dirk.  So he had one fumbled snap in a playoff game a few years ago, he was the one who put the team into position to even try that kick. Our biggest fear from Romo is what he says in the post-game interview. Here’s a hint Tony, if you have just lost a game, don’t act like everything is bunnies and rainbows. The fans are upset, and want you to be also.

Martellus Bennett – My money is on this guy.  He showed last year that he can play. In fact, he showed he can be a “playmaker”.  He also showed that he likes attention, and that might be his downfall. I don’t think he listens to coaches, much less PR experts. His youtube video for “Black Olympics” might be just the start of his poor decisions. His comments on Twitter use such foul language and content that they will not be repeated here.  This guy is a loose cannon who the Cowboys need to defuse in a hurry.

Patrick Crayton – For someone with no skins on the wall, this player sure likes to talk a lot.  At times, he has shown he can make plays, but other times he has been known to drop passes at critical times (remember the playoff game against the Giants?)  Hopefully, he wasn’t mentored by T.O.

Roy Williams – Finally, back to on-field action, the biggest worry the Cowboys have about this receiver is production. After all the team gave up to get this guy, what happens if he is a bust?  Will it be an embarrassment if T.O. has more production in Buffalo than Williams has here?

The Defense – Interesting that all the players named have been on the offense.  Arguably, the biggest embarrassment last season was the defense. Anyone who saw the final two games last year would have to agree.  The defense has got to step up for a complete game, or even a complete set of downs.  Giving up a 20 yard play every 3rd Down is not acceptable. Unless the 3rd Down play improves, this could be an embarrassing season for that group.
