Wings Lose At Minnesota

All five starters scored in double figures and the Minnesota Lynx remained undefeated with an 80-63 victory over the Dallas Wings on Saturday night at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Sylvia Fowles had 16 points for Minnesota (7-0). Seimone Augustus scored 14 points, Maya Moore had 13 points and Lindsay Whalen added 11 points and eight assists.

Aerial Powers scored 20 points for Dallas (3-4). Karima Christmas had 15 points and Plenette Pierson contributed 11.

Minnesota started the game with an 8-0 run and went ahead 14-4 on a basket by Moore. Dallas cut the deficit to six late in the first quarter.

The Wings got within two midway through the second quarter. The Lynx briefly regained a double-digit lead on a layup by Whalen and led 36-29 at the half.

Minnesota opened a 42-29 lead early in the third quarter, but Dallas battled back to within two. A 3-pointer by Jia Perkins in the final minute gave the Lynx a 53-47 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Minnesota stretched its lead to 10 early in the fourth quarter and continued to pull away.
