Wings Win Again

Skylar Diggins scored 20 points as the Dallas Wings beat the Phoenix Mercury for the second time in 72 hours, winning 100-92 on Tuesday night at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

Odyssey Sims had 17 points and nine assists for Dallas (6-7), which beat the Mercury 117-111 in triple overtime on Saturday. Glory Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

DeWanna Bonner scored 26 points for Phoenix (4-9). Diana Taurasi had 21 points and Brittney Griner contributed 17 points and eight rebounds.

Dallas jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Phoenix battled back to take an 11-9 lead on two free throws by Taurasi. The Mercury carried a 22-20 lead into the second quarter.

Dallas reclaimed the lead early in the second quarter and maintained a slight advantage through most of the quarter. The Wings went up 35-32 on a 3-pointer by Jordan Hooper and led 48-44 at the break.

The Mercury tied the score early in the third quarter, but Diggins keyed a 9-2 run to put the Wings up 57-50. Dallas led 76-65 entering the fourth.

The Mercury made one more run to get within three late in the fourth quarter, but a layup by Johnson helped the Wings hold on.
