Bryan Brothers Will Play For Texas Wild

IRVING, Texas – The Texas Wild of Mylan World TeamTennis announced today it has completed its first Marquee Player Draft protecting Bob and Mike Bryan, the 2013 Australian Open Champions and the winners of more Grand Slams than any doubles team in tennis history. The team also announced that former world No. 1 Venus Williams will make a visit to Irving playing for the defending champion Washington Kastles. In addition to the Bryan brothers and Venus Williams, the team will also host a visit from the Boston Lobsters and their marquee player, former world top 10, Mark Philippoussis.

“I am extremely pleased to be able to have the Bryan brothers play for the Texas Wild,” said Jeff Launius, Co-Owner and General Manager. “Also having world- class players like Venus Williams and Mark Philippoussis on visiting rosters will make it a very exciting inaugural year for our fans,” he added.

In addition to completing the Marquee Player Draft, the team also announced that

the new venue for the Texas Wild is the prestigious Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. During the season, a stadium will be constructed with seating for approximately 2,100 fans. Season tickets for the seven home matches will go on sale March 14, 2013.

The team also unveiled its new logo today, which plays on the theme of Irving and the city’s wild horses.

The 2013 season of Mylan World TeamTennis runs during July in eight U.S. markets. The Texas Wild will play in the Western Conference along with the Orange County Breakers (Irvine, Calif.); Sacramento Capitals (Sacramento, Calif.) and the Springfield Lasers (Springfield, Mo.). The Eastern Conference includes the 2012 Champion Washington Kastles (Washington, D.C.), Boston Lobsters (Boston, Mass.),New York Sportimes (New York, N.Y.) and the Philadelphia Freedoms (Villanova, Pa.).
